OTTAWA, October 25, 2024 – Ontario Senator Paulette Senior announced today she is joining the Independent Senators Group (ISG). Renowned for her work toward gender equity and to dismantle barriers for women and girls, Senator Senior is a leader in her community. She has devoted her life to empowering women, girls, and gender-diverse people. She has worked with many charitable foundations, namely as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Women’s Foundation and as Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Canada. Senator Senior is the recipient of numerous accolades in recognition of her exceptional professional contributions to the betterment of our society, including the Top 25 Women of Influence Award and the African Canadian Achievement Award.

Senator Senior was nominated to the Senate on December 20, 2023. Her addition to the Independent Senators Group brings the total membership to 42.
